Sleep (Life)

Sleep is a necessity in life. If you don't go to sleep, or if you don't get enough sleep, the rest of your day would be screwed up. You'll feel like crap when you wake up, and you'll suffer at work or school because of it. You'll faze in and out, not pay attention when people are talking to you, and just mess up in general. You WANT to go back to sleep, but you just can't. Not yet. Of course, if you do get enough sleep, you'll feel great for the entire day. You'll feel alive, be able to get things done, and actually concentrate (though, it's optional) when someone's telling you something.

Yeah, Sleep is important.

But it also sucks.

The biggest problem with Sleep is that you have to have so much of it to be able to stay awake for the rest of the day. It would have been great if you could sleep for only two or three hours, and feel great after waking up. Unfortunately, it's not even close to that in reality. You have to, get this, sleep for up to seven or eight hours a day in order to function properly. Doesn't it just tick you off that you have to waste so many hours everyday on something you can't actually enjoy? Sure, you'll usually feel good when you wake up, and you sometimes get an awesome dream out of it, but you don't really get to experience those 7/8 hours. I mean, it would've been cool if you were in a semi-orgasmic state (the kind of feeling you have after a good stretch) the whole time, but you get nothing.

Now, Sleep does have its pros, like when a person that you live with has been annoying the crap out of you all day finally goes to sleep, you feel great. Or when you're about to be killed by a psycho, but because he didn't get that much sleep that day, he just barely misses you with his chainsaw, giving you the chance to escape. However, small little moments like that can't hide the fact that Sleep is a time-consuming and annoying aspect of life. You know what's the second worse thing about Sleep? Accidental naps. Those are just the worse, because you just wanted to lay down for a few minutes and rest. But then you start getting a little sleepy, your eyes are slowly shutting themselves, and you're just drifting off. You fight it, but then BAM, you're asleep. Then you wake up an hour later feeling like crap, and for the rest of the day, you're stuck in this half-awake/half-asleep state that you just loathe. To top it all off, when you finally do need to go to sleep, you have a hard time doing so, because you had some a little earlier. And because of that, you end up getting little sleep, and you wake up tired, and you'll feel like crap for the rest of the day. Gah.

Man, life would be so much better if Sleep was just an option.

But it's not. It's a necessity.
